THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF SEZ WILL BE HELD IN RUSSIA
From September 28 to 30, Lipetsk will host the first International Forum of Special Economic Zones - 2023. The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZs of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Lipetsk Region, as well as the SEZ "Lipetsk".
“Special economic zones are created in order to help the regional economy develop. Such preferential regimes should benefit the territories, help modernize existing ones, build new enterprises and create jobs. That is to be as efficient as possible. The forum will become a place for discussing what has happened, what is still to be worked on”, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev.
“The forum will become a discussion platform for discussing issues of strengthening investment and innovation activity within SEZs, deep international cooperation and improving site management based on the exchange of experience, knowledge and best practices between key industry players,” said Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia.
SEZ Lipetsk has repeatedly become the best in Russia, including in 2022. A favorable investment climate has been created at the site in particular and in the region as a whole, we are trying to introduce advanced technologies, reduce administrative barriers, and are actively engaged in the digitalization of processes important for business. We are honored to be the first region to host the International Forum of Special Economic Zones. We are happy to share our experience with our colleagues and study their practices with great interest”, commented Igor Artamonov, Governor of the Lipetsk Region.
“Special economic zones continue to be key tools for stimulating regional and national economic growth, but they face new challenges in today's economic realities. ACTP RF is aware of the importance of these challenges and is holding an international forum of special economic zones - 2023 for constructive discussion and development of initiatives aimed at improving and developing the activities of SEZs in Russia. Within the framework of the forum, we will discuss topical issues of the successful functioning of special economic zones and the introduction of sustainable development principles to increase the investment attractiveness of infrastructure sites”, said Mikhail Labudin, director of the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZs of Russia, forum organizer.
Within the framework of the forum, business meetings and negotiations with Russian and foreign investors will be held to create strong business ties and implement investment projects. Dialogues will also be organized between representatives of business and government agencies to discuss the prospects for the development of domestic special economic zones.
Special attention will be paid to the discussion of the implementation of the principles of sustainable development in the activities of infrastructure sites. Demonstration of Russian business opportunities, industrial infrastructure and preferential treatment will also be an important part of the event program.
The forum will become an international platform that will bring together representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Iran, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates and Tajikistan to share experiences and create promising partnerships.
