The Skolkovo Center is a very young innovation hub. Founded in 2010, it became one of the priority projects of the Russian Federation and due to comprehensive support of the public authorities, as well as hard work of enthusiastic leading scientists, architects, businessmen, investors, inventors, teachers and startuppers over a short period of time it has already surpassed the expectations.
“Skolkovo” generates common innovative future together with partners from all over the world such as the Airbus Group, Boeing, Cisco, Ericsson, General Electric, Honeywell, IBM, Intel, Johnson&Johnson, Microsoft, Panasonic, Royal Philips, Samsung, SAP, Siemens, Softline, Kamaz etc.
In 2018 the number of startups in four clusters – BioMed, IT, Energy and PromTech (Nuclear and Space) - exceeded 1900, they received more than $190 million.
The Center is a fully-fledged city with comfortable “green” conditions for living, working and studying.
Design of the Center and its objects was completed by the most famous and prominent modern architects from all over the world: David Chipperfiled Architects (UK), SPEECH Choban/Kuznetsov (Russia), Volode&Pistre (France), Herzog&De Meuron (Sweden), Yuri Grigoryan (Meganom Project, Russia), Stefano Boeri (professor of urban development at Milan Architecture and Engineering University), OMA, Sejima and Nishizawa and Associates (Japan), Boris Bernaskoni (Russia). Zaha Hadid Architects was selected to build the Sberbank Technopark.
The key place of residence for startups in Skolkovo is the Technopark (with more than 450 startups), one of the largest technoparks in Europe, the biggest in the Eastern Europe and the most important in the Russian Federation, although it was completed only in 2017. The Skolkovo Technopark is this year’s winner of the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence AWARD in the Industrial Category.
The Technopark is also famous for large-scale international events in technology, science and business.
Following the common trend of customized approach, this year the Skolkovo Technopark launched a program of business missions for small delegations of 3-15 people from regions of Russia and foreign countries. The 2- or 3-day tailored program provides all comfortable conditions for every delegation to achieve their own goals in Skolkovo: it includes hotel accommodation, meals, access to the fitness center, guided tours of the Skolkovo Innovation Center and the Technopark, networking and business meetings with the team and resident companies.
